| Wendy Smith Thames, a native of Dallas, Texas, joined Carmon Funeral Home as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in June of 2008.
A graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas, Wendy began her career in funeral service in 2002 as an apprentice with Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. After marrying her husband TJ in 2006, the happy couple settled in Pineville, Louisiana where Wendy accepted a Funeral Director and Embalmer position with John Kramer and Son Funeral Home in Alexandria, LA.
Wendy is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, and the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association. She is currently working towards her Certified Funeral Service Practitioner Designation. An advocate for those in need, Wendy volunteers with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence. She has volunteered with Camp Conquer, a bereavement camp for children and teens in Lewisville, TX, and with The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
A passion-filled musician, Wendy enjoys singing in church and the community. Her hobbies include floral design, cooking, and traveling with her husband in her spare time.
